My family played MagiQuest at Great Wolf Lodge at Mason Ohio. We have 7 and 9 year old girls. We had lots of fun. You do have to buy $20 wands and spend about the same for the game. But, we spent about 5 hours on the game at our hotel stay. We ran all over our hotel playing it. It wasn't that difficult to figure it out and the hubby had a GREAT time with the kids. (i gave up about the 5th hour and used it for me time). I think you would find it well worth it and if your son is looking forward to it, you might get him to do some worthwhile chores to work up to it!! Good luck!!
