Ok, I figured out how this site works. I'm sorry; I don't know where my original message was even posted. The thing is we normally go to the gulf for vacation but because of the oil spill we are changing our plans and want to visit Myrtle Beach. I haven't been there in years probably 14. My husband and I are 36 and have a 14 year old son and we are not partiers but we do like to sit on the beach and drink beer. I was reviewing the policies and procedure from the hotel we have made reservations at and it says SC law prohibits alcohol on the beach. We do not want to get a ticket or go to jail so are thinking of cancelling and going somewhere else but we were really looking forward to this stay at the Breakers in Myrtle Beach. Can someone tell me if this law is strictly enforced or are people normally ok on the beach as long as they are discrete and not causing problems? I know the law is the law but locals also know how strictly the laws are enforced. Like when we go camping for a week in Blue Ridge alcohol is prohibited but as long as there are no problems the game wardens do not push this law and have never gotten a ticket in all the years we’ve been going there but in Hiwassee TN we got tickets for alcohol while camping and it was a horrible experience. Thank you for any input you have on this.
